The STF Fellow's Visit to Airbus

31/07/2009

The STF Fellows visited the assembly plant of Airbus in Tianjin on Friday July 31.
The plant, which assembles A319's, A320's and A321's for the Chinese market was inaugurated by Premier Wen Jiabao in September 2008.

It takes about 20 days to assemble one plane, and get it ready to fly. However, the Airbus Head of Manufacturing Engineering and Test told us that this should be reduced to around 6 days per plane in 2011. All the planes assembled will operate in China.
