The 1st STF Forum and Graduation Gala

The EU Science and Technology Fellowship Programme launched its First Forum on Science and Research with participants from the world of Science from China and Europe and concluded its language training with a Graduation Gala on 25 September 2009.

The first intake of the Science and Technology Fellowship Programme China (STF China) reached an important milestone on the 25th of September, 2009 from 18:00-21:00. This is the day that they received their graduation certificates of their 6-months intensive Chinese language and research culture training, which represented the first part of their 2-year programme in China.

The STF China also organised its First Forum on Science and Research on this day, bringing together academia and administrators from the scientific communities in China and Europe. The Forum was titled: “Science and Research in China - European and Chinese Perspectives” .

The graduation awards were handed to the Fellows by the Ambassador of the EC Delegation of China and Mongolia, Mr. Serge Abou, and by the President of the Beijing Foreign Studies University, Prof. Yang Xueyi. A total of 120 people from the Chinese and European research community, as well Chinese and European officials took part in the event.
